Sandy Duperval

Sandy Duperval is a complete artist: from Montreal, she’s a singer, musician, DJ and producer.

Her passion for music has lead her to study vocal techniques, with the will to always challenge herself. With more than 13 years of voice lessons, one of which with Cissy Houston, the mother of the one and only Whitney Houston, Sandy Duperval quickly reveals her talent, her vocal strength and her ability to transmit emotion through her music.

She discovered DJ’ing while studying in the Jazz section of the Cégep de Sherbrooke, which she added to her artistic toolbox. She was mentored by Hugo Lapalme, one of Quebec’s biggest DJ. Sandy Duperval shows agility and creativity and was revealed to the public through the 2004 edition of Star Académie.

She would then work with the biggest promoters and for the biggest events in Canada. She was, for example, the main DJ for the Toronto Pride Green Space three years in a row.

In the music scene, Sandy Duperval made a spot for herself in Gospel music, and then brings it to Jazz, R&B and the Blues. She creates her own production house Freedohm Records and works with several artists. Since 2008, she pursued several international tours and has grown her fan base both in Canada and in Europe and Asia. Her musical influences, which clearly outline her own style, are Whitney Houston, Tina Turner, Lauryn Hill, and Martha Wash.

Sandy Duperval has carefully prepared the release of her first studio album, featuring a load of varied artists from different backgrounds. She’s managed to give it its own signature, audaciously blending her voice, carefully arranged melodies and vivid, catchy drums.
